Mr Raymond Cheng received his training and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the "Big Four" in London. He specialises in corporate audits and has extensive experience in auditing companies in different industries, most especially financial service companies. He is the Managing Director of the Firm and is responsible for managing the Firm's overall practice and its day-to-day operations. He also heads up the Regulatory and Financial Industries Group (RFI) of the Firm and is familiar with procedures for reporting to the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), and the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
He is involved closely with special assignments including due diligence reviews for mergers and acquisitions, initial public offering (IPO), advising clients on corporate restructuring, and special investigations. He is specialised in acting as reporting accountants and auditors in IPOs and for companies listed on Hong Kong (HKEx) and overseas exchanges (Nasdaq, SGX and AIM). He is familiar with procedures in respect of open offers, rights issue and bonus warrants issues, spin-off and dual listing.
He has been elected HKICPA Council Member in 2010. He served as Committee Member of the Professional Standards Monitoring Committee, the Corporate Governance Committee, the Expert Panel on Securities, the Accountants' Report Task Force Committee, the Financial Accounting Standards Committee, the Audit Profession Reform Committee, the Auditing and Assurance Standards Committee, Organising Committee and Quality Reviewer of the Best Corporate Governance Disclosure Awards 2007-2012 of the HKICPA. He is also the Deputy Chairman of the Ethics Committee, the Convenor of the SMP Leadership Panel, Special Task Force on Adoption of Revised Code of Ethics, Committee Member of the Governance Committee, the Audit Profession Reform Working Group, the Professional Standards Monitoring Expert Panel and an Ex-Officio Member of the Member Services Accountability Board.
He is the Committee Member of the 11th CPPCC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee (廣西壯族自治區政協第十一屆委員會) and the 4th CPPCC Guangxi Yulin City Committee (廣西玉林市政協笫四屆委員會). He is the Vice President of HK Guangxi Chamber of Commerce, the Vice President of Hong Kong Guangxi Yulin Clansmen Association Limited, Council Member and Deputy Secretary General of Guangxi Overseas Friendship Association, Standing Director of Federation of HK Guangxi Community Organisations Ltd., Council Founding Member & Vice President of Institute of Accountants Exchange, Core Founding Member of Young Accountants Association and Executive Council Member & Treasurer of Hong Kong Guangxi Association of Professionals Ltd. He is the Vice-Chairman of the Retirement Benefit Scheme Monitoring Committee of the Hong Kong Examination and Assessment Authority, the Committee Member of the Finance Committee of the Hong Kong Examination and Assessment Authority. He is also a Member of Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executive Association, The Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies and Hong Kong United Youth Association Limited.
